With the passage of time, handloom products were replaced by machine made products\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: times new roman, serif;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. \u003c\/span\u003eSlowly, people started leaving this business and started alternative livelihoods.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: times new roman, serif;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: times new roman, serif;\"\u003eTo try revive the handloom culture using natural fibres, dyes and create a sustainable model for the community, the Rural Livelihood Mission implemented a program in collaboration\/intervention with the United  Nations (UNDP). \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: times new roman, serif;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: times new roman, serif;\"\u003eThe program worked with 37 artisans to help develop a range of products that were inspired by the mountains using natural dyes like turmeric, LAC (derived from the secretion of insects yielding shades of red ) , leaves and flowers, (thus the earth tones ) .
